Jay C. Flippen

Actor. Born in Little Rock, Arkansas, he was a prolific character actor known for his distinctive features appearing in over a 100 films and TV shows. He was already a veteran performer on radio and the Broadway stage when he made his screen debut in "Million Dollar Ransom" (1934). He had his biggest success in pictures during the 1950s and 60s, with roles in "Winchester '73" (1950), "The Lemon Drop Kid" (1952)," The Wild One" (1953), "Oklahoma!" (1955), "Cat Ballou"(1965) and "The Hell Fighters" (1968). For television his credits include "Route 66", "The Untouchables", "Ensign O'Toole", "Burke's Law", "The Virginian" and many more. He died at age 71 in Los Angeles, California.
