Mr. Douglas (Doug) McArthur Gill, 77, of Jonesboro, Arkansas, departed this life February 2, 2020. He was born April 15, 1942 on the family farm in Fisher, Arkansas, where he learned to love the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Doug was a devoted outdoorsman, husband, father, and Papaw. He also enjoyed attending church at Three Trees Cowboy Church in Wynne, Arkansas. Doug was proceeded in death by his father, Bea Gill, his mother, Nettie Mross Gill, five brothers: Kenneth Neal, Hershel Gill, John Gill, L. T. Gill, and Harvey (Buck) Gill. He is survived by a loving wife of 57 years Nellie Robinson Gill of the home, his daughter Robyn (Mitch) Ford of Bono, a daughter, Suzy (Tony) Ramsey of Weiner, his sister, Beatrice Gill Cheshier, of Hot Springs, one sister-in-law, Freddia May (Hershel) Gill and three grandchildren: Madelyn Ramsey, Jason (Diana) Ford, Jesse (Cassie) Ford, and great-grandsons, Charlie Bea Smith, Thomas Ford, Benjamin Ford, William Ford and great-granddaughter, Eleanor Ford. Bro. Tracy Wilson will conduct the service. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2020 from 10:00 until Service time at 11:00 A. M. at Jackson’s Harrisburg Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be held at Fisher Cemetery following the service.
