72 year old, Larry G. Chapman of DeMotte, IN, passed away January 31, 2020 at Northwestern after a valiant fight with numerous health issues.
On May 14, 1947, Larry was born to Charlie and Josephine (Francis) Chapman in Robinson, Illinois. Larry served in the U.S. Army during 1971-1973. He also worked for NIPSCO as a truck driver and in the service center. Larry married Gail (Austen) Barker on August 4, 2001 in DeMotte, Indiana. He loved tinkering in the garage, watching Colts football and LSU, grilling, storytelling, doing yardwork, and especially his corvette. He believed there was no such thing as a stranger.
Larry is survived by his loving family: wife, Gail; children, Darren (Matt Pedersen-Chapman) Chapman and Jennifer (Timothy) Howard; grandchildren, Blaze Howard and Lorraine Howard; siblings, Cathy (Carl) Payne and Harry (Glenda) Chapman.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents and infant brother, Louis Chapman.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. (noon) at the DeMotte United Methodist Church on Saturday, February 29, 2020. Services for Larry will take place at the church at 12:00 p.m. (noon) Saturday, February 29, 2020 with Pastor Ed van Wijk officiating. Interment will follow at the Danville National Cemetery, Danville, Illinois March 6, 2020 at 14:00.
