Born Oct. 24, 1943, in Mechanicsburg, he was a son of the late Floyd K. and Gertrude E. Barrick Tritt.
A 1963 graduate of Carlisle High School, he served in the Army and the Pennsylvania Army National Guard 104th Armored Cavalry in Carlisle for five and a half years.
He retired from Swartz-Mortensen Enterprise, Newville, with more than 30 years of service as a machinist.
Mr. Tritt was a certified lay minister and member of the Lay Empowerment Network-New Cumberland District and Central Pennsylvania Conference with the United Methodist Church; vice chairman of the board of Neighbors in Christ, Newville; and coordinator of the Summer Campground Ministry at Western Village RV Park, Carlisle.
He was a member of Big Spring Fish and Game Association and the National Rifle Association. He loved the outdoors, archery and woodworking.
Mr. Tritt is survived by his wife of 37 years, Joann E. Varner Tritt; two brothers, Leroy B. of Newville and Paul E. of Plainfield; and many nieces and nephews.
The Rev. Howard A. Kerstetter and the Rev. Leon Young will officiate at Wednesday's services. Burial will be in Newville Cemetery, North Newton Township.
Friends may call Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, and Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
