Mr. Lee Christman Ford, age 58, of The Village of Alamance, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 7, 2019. A native of Alamance County, he was the son of the late L. Glenn Ford and Lelia Clemmer Ford. Lee was a graduate of Western Alamance High School and Alamance Community College, where he earned a degree in Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology.

For many years, Lee was a dedicated employee of General Electric in Mebane; more recently, he was a Maintenance Technician with Design Master Displays. His skills and dependability were highly valued by his employers.

Lee was a skilled marksman and, in his spare time, enjoyed competitive shooting events. Another great interest was his love of animals. As a young child, he read books to his dog! Lee pursued developing ever-greater skills in dog training and competitions.

Having been raised as an active member of Macedonia Lutheran Church, Lee continued his faith in God as an adult. Through multiple health issues his faith continued to sustain him to get through difficult times in life. He was especially dedicated to his family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Susanne Steelman Ford. A stepson, Christopher Love (Katharine) and 3 grandchildren are stationed in Japan with the US Navy, a sister, Chris Turner (Tommy); a brother, Craven Ford (Sherry); and two nieces, Eva Turner Byrd (Carl) and Elizabeth Ford Powell (Tom), all of the Village of Alamance; and also a nephew, Allen Turner (Jennifer) of Burlington; two great-nieces, and a great nephew.

A private memorial service to celebrate Lee's life was held in the Chapel of Alamance Lutheran Church on Sunday, December 15, 2019, with a reception following at the Historic Watkins House.

Memorials may be made to: Gary Sinise Foundation, P. O. Box 368, Woodland Hills, CA 91365; or, Humane Society of Alamance, P. O. Box 5117, Burlington, NC 27216.
