March 06, 1957 - January 30, 2020

Named by his older brother Robert, Joe Louis Todd, Sr. was born to the late Mr. & Mrs. Arzie and Earlene Todd in Prestwick, AL on March 6, 1957. As a child he attended Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in Prestwick, AL with his parents.

On January 13, 2020 he reaffirmed his belief in Christ while in the presence of family and friends.

Joe attended Prestwick Elementary School & Leroy High School in Leroy, AL where he was a great athlete, playing both basketball and football. He attended Stillman College but entered the workforce shortly thereafter.

Joe was employed for many years at Bird Johnson Company before the company transitioned to Rolls Royce Marine in Pascagoula, MS. Over that 30+year period, he met many people, some have already transitioned whom he hopes to see again. Additionally, he has coworkers that have turned into friends over the years that he leaves to cherish.

His nickname at Rolls Royce was 5:45, if he wasn’t there by 5:45 A.M. he wasn’t coming and if you weren’t there, you were late.

Whether you called him Joe Louis, Mr. Todd, Baby Joe, Todd Boy, Uncle, Daddy, or Paw Paw, he loved you all just the same.

He loved to entertain friends and family, fish while enjoying the wildlife, which included visiting Chief (Joyce), cook (self – proclaimed best this side of the Mississippi) and was a hard and committed worker until he fell ill.

He is preceeded in death by his wife Karen “Biddy” Todd, son Courtney “Woody” Todd, parents Mr. & Mrs. Arzie & Earlene Todd, and granddaughter Jermyah Elizabeth Todd.

He leaves to treasure his memories son, Joe L. Todd, Jr. of Gulfport, MS; daughter, Brandy (Tamesha) N.
