Following is remembrance by Fred S. Alexander III, surviving husband:

Some history about my lovely, beautiful bride:
Earnie played basketball for her school in Burkes Garden, Virginia. While going through her yearbook at her High School reunion I noticed that she scored more points for her team than the whole boys team together scored. Upon graduation Maxine took Earnie to Denver where she got a job at Central Bank as a teller after going to comptometer school. She worked her way up in eleven (11) years to one of the head tellers. She also met Leon O’Brien who worked at the bank and they got married after a couple of years. They moved to Granby, Colorado where they opened up an Insurance business and worked together until O.B. passed away from brain cancer. I was one of the Architects who worked on Park Central where Central Bank was located and O.B.’s office was next door to mine and we went to lunch many times but I never got to meet Earnie. After Earnie and O.B. got married she was a flight attendent for Ports-a-Call for thirteen years. After O.B.’s passing Earnie worked as a jeweler and after we met she was the office manager for my Architectural Firm, Alexander Associates Architects LLC and Alexander Industries LLC my construction firm. Earnie also was the “Queen Mum” for the Colorado Select Ol’ Boys Rugby Football Club for almost thirty years. She designed many of our Rugby Kits and gear when we, as a team, went to the World Golden Oldies Rugby Festivals starting in 1992. We have made all of the World Golden Oldies except one since we started attending this World Golden Oldies Rugby Festival. This year the World Golden Oldies Rugby Festival is in Denver, Colorado June 6th to 15th. Earnie was a big help in getting this World event here in Denver. Her efforts and love of the game were greatly appreciated. She will be greatly missed at this years Festival by all of the Teams that knew her and are attending the Festival.
