Elizabeth J. "Betty" Gardner, 77, died Wednesday, February 13, 2019. She was the beloved wife of Walter E. Gardner.

Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Oralie (Davis) Farrara, and has been a resident of Warwick for most of her life.

Betty was employed as a customer service representative with MetLife for 19 years. She was a communicant of St. Gregory the Great Church where she served as an alter server.

She was the beloved mother of Sheri M. Stewart, Lori J. (Kenny) Dale, and the late Derek M. Cole; step-mother of Christine (Bud) Sarachick, Buddy (Tracie) Lamphere, Mitzi (Joe) Fordham, and Anjanette (John) Lynch; sister of Debbie Foss and Jaye Wronoski. She was also blessed to have 17 grandchildren, including Tommy Cole who she helped raise and live with her from the age of 4, and 20 great-grandchildren.

Her funeral was held Monday, February 18, 2019 from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Avenue, Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Gregory the Great Church, Cowesett Road, Warwick. Burial followed in the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. Gregory the Great Church, 360 Cowesett Road, Warwick, RI 02886, or, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000 Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148, will be appreciated.
