Obituary: DORIS POLLEY HALE, 94, of Huntington, passed away Tuesday June 21, 2016 in Cabell Huntington Hospital. Mrs. Hale was born June 7, 1922 in Huntington, daughter of the late Leonard and Daisy Still Polley. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hale was also preceded in death by her husband, Alphonso A. Hale; sister, Deloris Howard; brother, Dr. William Polley; and granddaughter Delena M. Hale. Mrs. Hale was a graduate of Wilber-Force University in Xenia, Ohio, member of the First Baptist Church of Huntington, and a lifetime member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. She is survived by one daughter, Cheryl Jackson; one son, James (Rebecca) Hale; six grandchildren, Winifred Cardwell, Kevin Jones, Christopher A. (Carol Lee) Hale, Jason (Anisa) Hale, and DuVaughn (Marshelia) Hale; numerous great grandchildren; and three great great granddaughters; two sisters, Marian Williams and Norma Fullen; and numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends. Funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday June 27, 2016 by Rev. Donte Jackson at the First Baptist Church of Huntington, 801 6th Avenue. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Huntington. Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. at the church with Delta Sigma Theta; omega omega Ceremony at 11:45 a.m. Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville, Ohio is in charge of arrangements.
