James G. Briggs
James Briggs was born in Bountiful and with the exception of a few years the family lived in Star Valley, Wyo., has spent the 55 years of his life in Bountiful. He was the son of the late Thomas and Ann Kirkham Briggs and father of the late Loren Briggs, who won distinction in athletics and who was a coach at the Davis High School and at the East Side High School in Salt Lake.
He married Artulus Cook who together with the following children survive him: Archie, Amby, Mark, Sylvia Briggs and a young son. His eldest son Alvin who lived at Syracuse died about a year ago and his son Loren and wife lost their lives when their auto and a Bamberger train collided.
The deceased was quiet and unassuming and was thought a great deal of by everybody.
The funeral services will be held in the Bountiful Tabernacle, Monday at 2 p. m.
