Ida Mae Taylor (nee Spenrath) passed away on December 21, 2019 in Comfort, Texas. She was born on December 8, 1926 in Spring Branch, Texas.

Ida Mae grew up in Comfort and graduated from Comfort High School in 1944 as Salutatorian. She earned an Associate's Degree from Draughon's Practical Business College in 1945, after which she started her 43 year career at National Cash Register in San Antonio, Texas.

She retired to Comfort where she was a dedicated member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and was an active volunteer with the Golden Age Center, Hermann Sons, and Women's VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing dominoes with her many friends and traveling all over the United States with her aunt Meta Borchert. She loved the Christmas in Comfort celebration and was an avid baker.

Ida Mae is preceded in death by her parents, Bruno and Elsie Spenrath, her sister Rufna Spenrath and her brother Otto Spenrath. She is survived by her son Wayne Taylor and his wife Pam; her granddaughter Stephanie Zaruba and her husband Robert; her grandson Brian Taylor and his wife Jennie; and her two great-granddaughters, Penny Zaruba and Maggie Taylor.

Visitation will be Sunday, December 29, 2019 from 4-6 p.m. at Schaetter Funeral Home in Comfort, Texas. Funeral services will be conducted at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Comfort, Texas on Monday, December 30, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. If you would like to honor Ida Mae's memory, in lieu of flowers, please send donations in her name to the Comfort Volunteer Fire Department, Golden Age Center or Immanuel Lutheran Church.
