Christine Virginia Thomas, age 91 of Maryville, passed away peacefully at Fairpark Rehabilitation Center of Maryville.
She is at home with her Lord and Savior and reunited with her husband of 45 years Rev. James Eli Thomas and loved ones gone before.
Christine was a member of Central Baptist of Alcoa.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James “Eli” Thomas, parents Andrew Davis Whaley and Mary E. Ownby Whaley, siblings; James Hansel Whaley, Mamie Smelcer, Jack Donald Whaley and Elizabeth Burge, and son-in-law; Larry Ward.
She is survived by her daughter; Vickie Thomas Ward, son and daughter-in-law Mike and Kathy Thomas, grandchildren; Ben and Rachel Ward, Nikki and Micah Welch, great grandchildren; Cade, Cole, and Connor Welch, Winston, Darren, Eli, Brynley, and Beau Ward, special niece Louise Latham and cousin Betty Ruth Adams.
Christine was an avid genealogist for over 35 years. Her hobbies included crocheting and knitting. She loved gospel music and watching the church services at Springview Baptist Church.
Funeral service will be held on Monday February 3, 2020 at 7:00 pm in the Magnolia Chapel at Miller Funeral Home Brother Ben Ward, Brother Jimmy Riner, and Brother Greg Williamson 0fficiating. The family will receive friends on Monday February 3, 2020 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the Magnolia Chapel at Miller Funeral Home. Graveside and interment will be on Tuesday February 4, 2020 at 11:00 am at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
