Aged: 37 years, 5 months - Bill was killed by an IED while on patrol in Saqlawiyah, Iraq with the US Army as a scout, he was assigned to the 5th Squadron, 7th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, Ga. This unit is commonly known as "bullet sponges". He is survived by his Father, Michael Howdeshell of Springfield, Ill, 2 brothers: Matt Clausen and Mark Mrdalj and his son Robert Howdeshell, as well as many Aunt, Uncles, Cousins and several nieces and nephews. His Mother Elaine Clausen passed away in October 2015
