GYSGT David E Greer Jr, was born March 12, 1950, to the late David E. Greer Sr and the late Aldean Taylor Greer in Houston, Texas. As a child he enjoyed, going to see family in Galveston, TX, fishing and crabing, and in the United States Marine Corps, he found his passion of boxing. To many people who knew him, he was known as Gunny.
He retired from the United States Marine Corps, after which he went to work for the San Dieguito School District, where he also retired from in 2009.After retiring, he moved from Oceanside, Ca to Vancleave, MS, where he
found his love for the outdoors. He was married to his beloved wife Marjorie I. Greer for 37 years.
GYSGT David E Greer Jr, departed this life on January 28, 2020 in Moss Point Ms.
He was preceded in death by his parents David E. Greer Sr and Aldean Taylor Greer; Mother in Law Beatrice White; Sister in Law Lettie Mae Fairley; Grandson Sheridan Delano Turner II; Great Grandson Anthony Joseph Hawkins.
He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife, Marjorie I. Greer, his children Zenobia (Tony)James- Free, Joseph James, Effie Ann (Averill) Greer, David Greer and Gregory Greer. His Siblings, Delores A. Greer, Carolyn M(Joseph)Reed
