Beatrice Allen, age 87, life long resident of Elwood, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, January 30, 2020 at her residence following an extended illness. Beatrice was born on February 3, 1932, in Elwood the daughter of Howard and Dorothy Lawson.
Beatrice enjoyed taking care of her nine children and loved baking. She was a lifetime member of Zion Chapel Church and was a loving mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Beatrice is survived by her five sons, Robert Allen of Marion, Graydon (Joveda) Allen of Anderson, Walter Allen of MT, David Allen & James Allen both of Elwood, daughter, Rachel (Ronald) Jarvis of Elwood, several grandchildren, great grand children, nieces & nephews
Beatrice was preceded in death by her parents Howard & Dorothy Lawson, husband, Johnie T. Allen, two daughters, Kathy L. Hunter & Anna M. Dunn, and a son, Johnie T. Allen, Jr.
Funeral service celebrating Beatrice's life will be at 1:00 pm Tuesday, February 4, 2020, at Dunnichay Funeral Home, Elwood, Indiana with Rev. Amos Carmichael officiating. Burial will follow in the Elwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday, February 4, 2020, from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm, at Dunnichay Funeral Home, 1113 S. Anderson Street, Elwood, Indiana.
