Mr. Christopher Cobb, age 46, of John smith Rd. Blairsville, passed away on Saturday June 10, 2006 at his home following an extended illness. Mr. Cobb was born on Dec. 4, 1959 in Murphy, NC, the son of the Royna Mae Coe Cobb and the late Robert Ty Cobb. He was a lifelong resident of Union County and had graduated from Union County High School in 1977. He was a Veteran of the US Navy and served on the Aircraft Carrier USS Constallation. Mr. Cobb was of the Methodist faith.
Surviving Mr. Cobb are his mother, Royna Mae Cobb of Blairsville, two brothers, Robert Ty Cobb of Blairsville and John Roy Cobb of Blairsville, aunt, Juanita Hudson of CA, uncles, Johnny Cobb and George Coe, both of CA, nephews, Robert Ty Cobb III, Richard Cobb and Johnathon Cobb all of Blairsville, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services were held on Monday, June 13, 2006 at 2 p.m. from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Jerry Helton officiating. The following gentleman served as pallbearers, Robert Ty Cobb III, Richard Cobb, Johnathon Cobb, Paul Thompson, and Al Garnto. Interment followed in the Bethany Baptist Church cemetery. The family met with friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 6-9 p.m.
