Billy G. Dobbins, age 83, of Hebron passed away Thursday, January 30, 2020. He was born on June 9, 1936 in Winona, Mississippi to the late John and Alma Dobbins. On November 15, 1958, in Hammond, Indiana, he married Pauline (nee Kosmoski) Dobbins. Billy retired from LTV Steel where he worked as a machinist. He loved gardening, especially tending to his vegetable garden and cleaning up the pine needles in the yard. He was a dedicated member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, where he served as an usher for Sunday masses.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Pauline Dobbins; son, Rodney (Rose) Dobbins; daughter, Beth (Lenny) Gnat; grandchildren, Ashley Dobbins, Ryan (Taylor) Dobbins; sister, Mary Weed of Jackson, MS; sister-in-law, Arlene Sasser; and faithful dog, Lacey.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Alma Dobbins; 5 brothers and 2 sisters.

Visitation for Billy will be held Monday, February 3, 2020 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Winfield Chapel, 10909 Randolph St. Winfield/Crown Point, IN 46307 with a prayer service at 5:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will take place Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at 10:00 am at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 509 West Division Road, Valparaiso, IN 46385 with prayers starting at the funeral home at 9:15 am. Rev. Michael Kopil is officiating. He will be laid to rest at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
