Wilma H. Guetzko, 80, of Delhi, died Thursday, March 14, 2013 at Comfort House in McAllen, TX.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Delaware by Rev. Donald Krause. Visitation will be 2:30 pm - 7:30 pm, Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at the Clifton-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Earlville. Additional visitation, one hour before services Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in the Pine View Cemetery, Delaware.

Wilma was born July 30, 1932 in Rowley, IA, the daughter of Harry and Mary (Metcalf) Gates. She graduated from Rowley High School and then attended Iowa State Teachers College.

Wilma taught Home Economics and Science at the Delhi Schools, and later was a farm wife and homemaker.

On June 21, 1957, Wilma was united in marriage to Donald Guetzko in Delhi.

Wilma was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, LWML, Thursday morning bible study, was a member of the church choir, and was church financial secretary. She was also 4-H Leader, belonged to Silver Lake Garden Club, Country Cousins Square Dance Club, and volunteered for Camp Courageous. She attended Spirit of Peace Lutheran Church in Texas, and enjoyed spending time with her RV park extended family.

Wilma enjoyed flowers, playing cards and games, bird watching, gardening, cooking and baking, her cat "Tiger", and time with her family, and attending her grandkids' sporting events and concerts.

Wilma made the best homemade rolls, and her grandchildren will remember her most for playing "Fast Track". She will be truly missed by all her family and friends.

Wilma is survived by her husband of 55 years, Don; five children, John (Peggy) Guetzko of West Branch, Wendy (Bill) Dekarske of Dyersville, Grant (Tana) Guetzko of Delhi, Beth (Rod) Birdsell of Sioux City, and Becky (Kit) Hart of Pearl, MS; grandchildren, Valerie Guetzko, Michael Guetzko, Michelle Guetzko, Amber (Wes) Vaske, Austin Wessels, Greg Guetzko, Garrett Guetzko, Gabriela Guetzko, Faith Birdsell, Libby Birdsell, Nichol Hart, and Laura Hart; a sister, Lela Jones; nieces and nephews, Sharon Kolosik, Ralph (Carol) Jones, Bob (Dee) Jones, and Roger (Vicky) Jones; and in-laws; Evelyn Berends, Vida (Jerry) Engels, and Betty McGee.

Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Lloyd Gates; in-laws, Louis Guetzko, Lewis Berends, and Ben McGee.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or donor's choice in Wilma's memory.
