Nancy J. Potter, of Dowagiac, passed away on Monday, January 27, 2020, at Hanson Hospice in Stevensville after a long battle with Parkinson’s decease.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, February 9, 2020, at the First United Methodist Church, 326 N. Lowe St., in Dowagiac. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday from 2:00 P.M. until the time of service at the church. Memorial contributions in Nancy’s name may be made to the First United Methodist Church or the Dowagiac Council on Aging. Nancy was born September 15, 1943, to Neil and Ruth (Hartsell) Prescott in Dowagiac. She graduated from Dowagiac High School in 1961. On July 20, 1963, she married the love of her life, Alton Lee Potter. Nancy and Alton owned and operated Potters Arts and Crafts and Stained Glass in Dowagiac for over 40 years before her retirement. She enjoyed her Monday Night Running Club with her friends. Nancy was known as a selfless person who loved to take care of others. Most of all she loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Nancy is survived by her children, Monica (Colby) Novar of Kalamazoo and Patrick (Rhonda) Potter of Dowagiac; grandchildren, Anthony Potter, Emily Potter and Molly Potter; step-grandchildren, Leah Scholten and Mya Scholten.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alton Lee Potter and Brother Roger Prescott.
