Daniel J. Howard, 76, of Shawneetown, Illinois, passed away after an extended illness on Friday, January 31, 2020, 12:35 a.m. at the Wabash Christian Center Village at Carmi. Danny was first of his siblings to born at the hospital in Shawneetown on February 3, 1943. He was the son of the late Herman Sr. and Josephine (Kinder) Howard.

Danny was the bookkeeper for Howard Brothers Farm and a member of the Shawneetown Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed gardening, antiques, and raising Pembroke Corgi’s.

Danny is survived by six siblings, Rebecca Ann Redeman of Tucson, Arizona; Mary Jane and Henry Gross of Marion; Bill Howard of Junction; Jim and Louise Howard of Shawneetown; Dave and Joann Howard of Dayton, Ohio; Jerry and Helen Howard of Junction; sister in law, Brenda Howard of Shawneetown; brother in law, Mike Bosaw of Shawneetown; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Betty Krikie and Ellen Kay Bosaw; three brothers, Herman Jr., Conrad L., and Jack E. Howard.

Visitation for Danny will be held on Saturday, February 1st from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown. There will be a private graveside on Sunday, February 2nd at 1 p.m. at the Fields Cemetery
