Funeral services for James D. Waldrop, Sr., 90, of Pennington will be Sunday, February 2, 2020, at 2:00 P.M. at Ebenezer Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Abston officiating. Burial will follow in the Ebenezer Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to the service.

Mr. Waldrop passed away Thursday, January 30, 2020, in Tuscaloosa. He was born September 30, 1929, in Fayette, Alabama.

Survivors include his son, James Daniel Waldrop, Jr. (Dianne) of Demopolis; daughter, Patricia Waldrop Hearing (W.L.) of Northport; brothers, Bill Waldrop (Jo) of Culman; Lurd Waldrop of Brundidge; sister, Rita Glenn (Eugene) of Decatur; 5 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert B. Waldrop and Eulene Howton Waldrop; wife, Betty Jo Waldrop; brothers, Silas, Wayne, and Len Waldrop; and sister, Kathleen Clark.

Pallbearers: Glen Waldrop, Tony Bush, David Waldrop, Tommy Waldrop, Austin Clark, Logan Clark, Dylan Smith, Drew Butorac, U.S. Marine Corporal Amber Bush.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hospice of West Alabama.
