Jerry went to be with his Lord on June 8, 2017. He was born in Des Moines, IA and lived there most of his life. He graduated from North High School in 1950. At 17, he joined the Iowa National Guard and was a Weapons Instructor and Drill Sargent. He achieved the rank of Master Sargent and Acting 1st Sargent before being discharged in 1957.

In 1973 he started Custom Upholstery & Interiors doing re-upholstery, refinishing and custom furniture building.

Jerry was a Skeet Shooter at the New Pioneer Gun Club and won many state and zone championships. He loved to fish and spent 34 summers flying into Canada with his fishing buddies.

On June 14, 1964, he married Judi Barrowcliff; they spent 53 years together.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Judi Bowlsby, daughter, Becca (Jeff) Duncan of West Des Moines, IA; sons, Derrick (Jody) Bowlsby of Des Moines, IA and Scot Bowlsby of Des Moines, IA; grandchildren, Tyler Duncan, Vivian Duncan, Addison Bowlsby, and Zach Bowlsby; and his puppies Sammy and Boomer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Addison “Bud” and Pearle Bowlsby.
