Marie Schaeffer Watkins, 82, Morgantown, WV, formally of
Oakland, MD, died on February 26, 2012, at Ruby Memorial
Hospital, Morgantown after battling cancer.

Born March 26, 1929 in Washington D.C., she is survived by her
husband of 65 years, John Douglas Watkins, Morgantown; two daughters,
Linda Marden, Morgantown and Bonnie Swyter, Oakland; two sons, W. Mark
Watkins and Steve Watkins, Oakland, 10 grandchildren and 3 great
grandchildren.

She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Oakland,
MD, where a service will be held in her remembrance on March 3, 2012
at 12:00 noon. Reception will follow immediately, honoring many of her
accomplishments.

Marie was a bookkeeper/secretary for many businesses including
Bechtel Corp., Jay Dee Studio, NSA, and Hyde Laundry. She was a member
of the Pythian Sisters, Sew Crafty Ladies of St. Paul's (she crocheted
over 700 Linus blankets for hospitalized children in the last 12
years), numerous choirs as the pianist and vocals, and the Business
Women's Club of Gaithersburg. Marie was also an avid artist and
craftswoman, painting many pieces of artwork for family and friends.
