Mrs. S. Eagan, 85, mother of six children
OIL CITY - Mrs. Susan A. Eagan, 85, of 36 Pearl Ave., widow of Patrick J. Eagan, died at 3:30 a.m. today in the Grandview Convalescent Home follkwing a short illness.
She was born Oct. 20, 1885, in Limestone, N. Y., a daughter of James and Catherine Rowan Monighan.
Mrs. Eagan attended schools in Limestone, N. Y., and business college at Buffalo, N. Y.
She was married in 1914 to Patrick J. Eagan, former grocer, who preceded her in death in 1962.
Mrs. Eagan was a member of St. Joseph's Church, the Rosary Society of the church, and the Ladies Catholic Benevolent Association.
Surviving are the following children: Joseph Eagan of Harrisburg, Mrs. James E. (Mary R.) Hovis of York, James J. Eagan of Westfield, N.J., Mrs. Robert J. (Virginia) Hickey of Lansdowne, Thomas E. Eagan at home and Richard A. Eagan of Erie.
Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. A. M. Bower of Oil City, Miss M. Edith Moynihan and Sister M. Marcia, both of Pierre, S.D.; 17 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Mrs. Eagan was preceded in death by two sons, Eugene and Robert.
Friends will be received after 2 p.m. Thursday in the Joseph A. Reinsel Funeral Home will the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday.
Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Joseph's Church.
Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
