Franklin D. Coe was born June 7th, 1847 at Camden, N. Y., and departed this life August 11th, 1929, at his home in Otter Lake, Mich., aged 82 years, 2 month, 4 days.

He was the son of David and Clarisca Coe. On August 11th, 1864, he enlisted in Co. L. 16th Regiment of New York Engineers Volunteers, under Captain Amos P. Pond. He received his honorable discharge from United States Army on June 13th, 1865, at Fort Barry, Va. In 1870 he went to Otter Lake, Michigan, where he engaged in lumbering.

In 1873 he returned to Camden, N.Y., and was united in marriage with Harriet Drought, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Drought, April 30, 1873. To this union was born six children; Eddie I. and Byron W., who are buried at Ford cemetery, Camden, N.Y.; Herbert J. and Edith L., being buried at Columbiaville cemetery, Columbiaville, Mich. He leaves to mourn his going his wife, Harriet E. Coe, one son, Floyd, one daughter, Mrs. William Hemingway, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; four brothers, Malchie Coe of Bernhards Bay, N.Y.; Richard of Camden, N.Y.; Wallace and Francis of Otter Lake; one sister, Mrs. Robert Fielding, Otter Lake, besides a host of friends.

Funeral services were held from his home Tuesday, August 13. Burial was made at Columbiaville cemetery, Columbiaville, Mich.
