Deacon Lonnie White
January 18, 1934 - January 23, 202

Mr. Lonnie J. White, Sr. was born in Reagan, Texas to the union of Alexander and Rachel White. Lonnie was the oldest of 13 siblings.
Lonnie was born into the Upper Zion Baptist Church in Marlin, Texas and at an early age claimed Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. Upper Zion Baptist Church was the focus of his religious training and service. He was a faithful member until he relocated to Oakland, California and became a member of Saint Rest Missionary Baptist Church where he was ordained as a Deacon and faithful choir member. In 2009 Deacon Lonnie became a founding member and Head Deacon of the Word of God Christian Fellowship Church in Cypress Texas.
Deacon Lonnie graduated from Booker T Washington High School in Marlin, Texas. after graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy in 1953. Lonnie continued his civil service to our country by working as an aircraft electrician at the Alameda Naval Airbase in Alameda, California for 43 years. He was employed at Lockheed Martin working at various locations in the U.S. and abroad. After retirement, Lonnie was our favorite singing greeter at Walmart for 5 years.
In early years, Lonnie united in marriage with Velma White, who proceeded him in death. To this union 6 children were born. He later united in marriage to Leona Walker - White until his death. They both enjoyed life together and their favorite pastime was to travel and spend time with family.
Deacon Lonnie J. White went to be with the Lord on January 23, 2020. He leaves to cherish his legacy his loving wife, Leona Walker-White; son, Lonnie white jr. (Patrice) of Houston tx; daughters, Cheryl white, Peggy White, Dianna Clemons (Alonzo) and Donna Guidry; step-daughter, Tracy Walker; sisters, Ola Jones, Patricia Watson of Marlin, TX, and Ruthie Anderson of Dallas, TX; brother, Titus White (Lorraine) of Dallas, TX; sisters-in-law, Joyce White, Joanne White and Vicki White of California; uncle, Sam White (Darlene) of Texas City, TX; aunts, Mozella Debose of Fort Worth, TX and Bernice Kirk of Marlin, TX; Twenty -three Grandchildren; Twenty-five Great Grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father and mother; brothers, Eddie Lee White, Alexander White, Jr., Wille B. White and Timothy White; sisters, Mildred White, Peggy White, and Pearl White; and son, rodney white. His memory will be forever held by a host of other close relatives and friends.
