Leslie Dane Harris, a resident of Wharton, Texas since 1969, was called home by our Lord on Thursday morning, January 30, 2020. Born in North Zulch, Texas, on October 24, 1931, he was 88 years old.

Dane will be fondly remembered as a husband, son, brother, father and Papaw as well as a veteran of the Korean War and a Mason/Scottish Rite.

He spent his working career of over 40 years with Southwestern Bell/AT&T and was a Wharton Volunteer Firefighter and member of First Baptist Church, Wharton.

Dane is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of nearly 69 years Bobbie Ann Turner Harris and their children, Debbie Krenek and husband David of Kingwood, Sheila Joseph and husband Gary of Katy and Leslie Dane II and wife Angela of Plano. Their children and Dane’s grandchildren include Nick Krenek and Kate Ball, Kevin Krenek, Jon Joseph and wife Sydney Beique, Jeff Joseph, Julie Naghavi and husband Eman. Devyn, Drew, Leslie Dane III and Isabella Harris, and great grandchildren, Austin and Ryan Naghavi.

Services for Dane will be Sunday, February 2, 2020 with visitation at the Madisonville Funeral Home from 10:00 to Noon and a graveside service at 1:00 at the Willowhole Cemetery in North Zulch.
