Rosa Lee Brown 1944 - 2020 Obituary

Rosa Lee Brown, 75, of Windsor, beloved wife for 20 years of Tommy Lee Brown, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 25, 2020, surrounded by her family at Hartford Hospital. Born in Montgomery, AL on August 22, 1944, daughter of the late Joshua and Mattie Pearl (Willis) Jones, she was raised in Montgomery, AL and was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School, Class of 1962. Rosa moved to Hartford in 1963, and later settled in Windsor where she had lived for over 40 years. She owned and operated the Pink Terrace Salon in Windsor for many years and was well-known by her clients and throughout the community as an expert hair stylist. Rosa loved the Lord and took her faith seriously. Praying, worshiping, and growing spiritually was an important part of her life. She worshiped at The First Cathedral for over 30 years where she also served as a dedicated adult Sunday School teacher. She worked hard to understand the lessons from the Bible and how she could live out Christ's teachings in her everyday life. In her spare time, she loved working in her yard, taking walks, going to the gym, and entertaining her family and friends at her home. Besides her husband, she leaves a daughter and her husband, a grandson, a sister, and two close friends. She was predeceased by a sister, Bessie Jones. Her family will receive friends on Saturday, February 1, 10-11 a.m., followed by a Homegoing Service at 11 a.m., at The First Cathedral, 1151 Blue Hills Ave., Bloomfield. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Bloomfield. Memorial donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, CT Chapter, 3000 Whitney Ave., Suite 121, Hamden, CT 06518 or by visiting, www.kidney.org/donate.
