Phillip Dwain Mason of Liberty died Wednesday, July 18, 2007 at Liberty Care Center. He was 68.

Born in Casey County on April 20, 1939, he was the son of the late Edgar and Lula Luttrell Mason.

He was of the Pentecostal faith.

Survivors include his wife, Christine Crawley Mason; a son, Barry Mason of Greencastle, Ind.; a daughter, Twila Mason of Owenton; four step-sons, Darren Short of Georgetown, Kenny and Donnie Short, both of Greencastle, Ind., and Dale Short of Union; four step-daughters, Carol Phelps and Shirley Angela Anvoots, both of Greencastle, Ind., Kathy Morrow of Crittenden and Gloria Huston of Burlington; four grandchildren; 26 step-grandchildren; 25 step-great-grandchildren; two step-great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jessie Reid and Charlotte Luttrell, both of Liberty; and a brother, Donald Mason of Liberty.

He was preceded in death by a step-son, William Randall Short.

Funeral services were July 21 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home by Bro. Phillip Smallwood and Bro. Robert Atwood.

Burial was in Mason Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Josh Hoskins, Shawn Wilkerson, Matt Atwood, Buddy Boaz, Carl Passmore and Randy Atwood.
