Died 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, 1995, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center. He was 88, a native of McComb, Miss., and a resident of Baton Rouge. Visiting at Foster Road Baptist Church, 9 a.m. until religious services at 11 a.m. Saturday, conducted by the Rev. Huey Moak. Graveside services at Hollywood Cemetery, McComb, Miss., at 2 p.m. Saturday.

Survived by wife, Annie Louise Kennedy Jones, Baton Rouge; two daughters, Dolores Jones Sams and Mary Helen Jones, both of Baton Rouge; three grandsons, Donald R. Sams Jr., Guadalajara, Mexico, Glenn Arthur Sams, El Dorado, Ark., and Steven L. Sams, Baton Rouge; a brother, R.L. Jones, McComb, Miss.; and three great-grandchildren, Melody, Kendal and David Sams.

Preceded in death by parents, Mr.and Mrs. C.G. Jones, McComb, Miss.; two brothers, C.P. Jones, Summit, Miss., and C.M. Jones, New Orleans; two sisters, Mae [sic Mai] Jones Barlow, New Orleans, and Vallie L. Jones, Baton Rouge.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and Maurice Bailey, Kenneth Bailey and Joseph Packwood. He was a member of Foster Road Baptist Church. Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., in charge of arrangements.
