A graveside service celebrating the life of Lynda J. Lewis, 76, of Newark, will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 16, at Wilson Cemetery.

Lynda passed away on Monday, December 9, 2019, at Licking Memorial Hospital. She was born March 5, 1943 in Newark to the late Joseph L. and Marie E. (Courter) Hitchcock.

Lynda enjoyed playing Bingo. It was one of the highlights of her week, as she played at various places in Newark for over 40 years. Her other interests were bowling, going to the casino and NASCAR racing. She was a longtime member of the Saturday Night Mix Bowling League and the Newark Eagles R.E.A.C.

She is survived by a daughter, Donna Galiher of Newark; two sons-in-law, Dave Ogilvie and Jeff Starkey; Teresa Ogilvie who was like a daughter; eight grandchildren, Christopher Sherman, Johnny “Jay” Starkey, Belinda (Joseph) Green, Crystal (Donald, Sr.) Moore, Jessica (Lisa) Starkey, Brandon (Noel) Ogilvie, Rebecca Galiher and Cameron Galiher; numerous great-grandchildren; brother Leslie Hitchcock of Riverside, CA; a cousin who was like a brother, Harry Thompson of Heath; and two nieces.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Debora Ogilvie and Deanna Starkey; her husband, Paul R. Lewis; and a son-in-law, Robert Galiher II.
