Funeral Service: 11:00 A.M. Saturday, February 1, 2020 at Zion Lutheran Church in Oelwein with Rev. Josh Schunk officiating.
Visitation: 3:00 to 7:00 P.M. Friday, January 31, 2020 at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Oelwein and for one hour before the service at the church on Saturday.
Inurnment: At a later date in Woodlawn Cemetery, Oelwein.
A memorial fund has been established in her name.
June Janet Silvest was born April 25, 1931 at Buckeye, Iowa, the daughter of Clifford and Mabel (Rasmussen) Silvest. On November 17, 1950, she was united in marriage to Meryl Jackson at Eldora, Iowa. June and Meryl owned and operated Sam’s Clothing Store in Oelwein for 38 years. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, WELCA, bridge club and ladies golf league. June enjoyed golfing and boating on the Mississippi River.
June is survived by her 2 sons: Jeff Jackson of Overland Park, Kansas and Jim Jackson of Savage, Minnesota; daughter: Jeanne (Paul) Otten of Maple Grove, Minnesota; daughter-in-law: Mary (Mark) Jackson Rinehart of Cedar Rapids; 8 grandchildren: Christopher Jackson, T.J. Jackson, Josh Otten, Laura Otten, Libby Jackson, Abby Jackson, Joey Jackson and Taylor Jackson; and 10 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son: John Jackson; grandson; Joshua James Jackson; brother: Robert Silvest; sister: Bernedine Mulane and infant sister: Berdelle Ann Silvest.
