Eric Duane Rhodes, 55, of Ravenswood, WV, passed away on January 26, 2020, at Jackson General Hospital in Ripley, WV.
He was born on December 1, 1964, in Gallipolis, Ohio. He was a mentor for Mountaineer Challenge; an apprentice at IBEW Local Union 968; former member of USWA Local 5668; a certified welder, and laborer at Niche Polymer. Eric was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Gulf War.
He is survived by his mother, Linda Johnson; wife, Tammy Metts Rhodes; children, Elizabeth Rhodes, Hannah Rhodes, and Jessica Beckham; grandchildren, Kaitlynn, William, Alexis, Emily, Alphie, and Anna. Eric was raising his grandson William like a son.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Elizabeth Rhodes; and maternal grandparents, Bud and Ruby Cochran.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, January 31, 2020, at 1:00 pm at Roush Funeral Home in Ravenswood with Pastor Mark Price officiating. Burial will follow in Ravenswood Cemetery with full graveside military rites provided by the Jackson County Honor Guard.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, January 31, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
