Mr. Dan Parker, age 79, of Murray, Kentucky died Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah, Kentucky.

Mr. Parker was born on April 19, 1940 in Murray, Kentucky to the late Johnny D. Parker and Myrtle Suiter Parker. Mr. Parker retired as an executive with Southwestern Bell and attended the Journey Church. He graduated in 1962 from Murray State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree, also while attending Murray State University he was a member of ROTC and the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He was a co-founder of the Racer Foundation and an avid supporter of Murray State University Athletics. Mr. Parker was a Captain in the United States Army.

Survivors include his wife Mitzi Ellis Parker, whom he married on June 23, 1963 in Murray, Kentucky; three sons, Steve Parker and wife Lori of Murray, Kentucky, Scott Parker and wife Laurie of Glendale, Missouri, and Stewart Parker and wife Susan of O'Fallon, Missouri; as well as seven grandchildren, Macie Parker, Chase Parker, Owen Parker, Avery Parker, Brooke Parker, Andrew Parker, and Elizabeth Parker.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, January 31, 2020 at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Matt Johnson and John Dale officiating. Burial will follow in the Murray City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., on Thursday, January 30, 2020 at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
