Donald L. Riddle age 61 of Plano, IL. passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family following a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born on August 11, 1958 in Madisonville, KY, the son of Donald and Jean (Blanchard) Riddle.
Don was united in marriage on May 6, 1989 to Shari Grice and they spent the next 30 years happily together. He was employed for many years by the Plano School District #88 as a Diesel Mechanic for school busses. He loved the outdoors and was a longtime member of the Barber-Greene Hunting and Fishing club in Yorkville, IL. Don was a loving husband, father, brother, son-in-law, brother-in-law and uncle who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Shari Riddle; his children, Amanda “Mandy” (Matt) Rothamer, Benjamin Riddle and William Riddle; his brothers, Jody (Geri) Riddle, and Keith (Dena) Riddle; his in-laws Bill and Sharon Grice; his sisters-in-law, Aly (Frank) Rattin and Missy (Chad) Gillis; as well as several nieces, nephews and his faithful dogs, Nitro and Gizmo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Jean Riddle.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00am on Friday, January 31, 2020 at the Nelson Funeral Home, 1617 N. Bridge St., Yorkville, IL. A Visitation will be held from 3:00 until 8:00pm on Thursday, January 30, 2020 at the Nelson Funeral Home, Yorkville, IL. Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Bristol, IL.
