Audrey Faye Turner, 90, of Excelsior Springs, Mo., passed away January 26, 2020 at Liberty Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Audrey was born February 2, 1929, in Orrick, Mo., to Charley and Fern (Turner) Hill. She graduated from Excelsior Springs High School. She went on to spend her working career standing with Dr. Bill Baird at his dentist chair in Excelsior Springs.
On May 10, 1960 Audrey married the love of her life, Truman Turner, who precedes her in death. Truman and Audrey had a wonderful 51 years together spoiling one another.
Although Audrey and Truman had no children of their own, together they touched the lives of all their nieces and nephews and their extended families. Nothing brought Audrey greater joy than spending time with family members, giving cooking lessons, telling old stories or gifting the best banana bread or chocolate chip cookies, to friends and family. Her generous nature towards others showed no boundaries.
Audrey was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Edythe Clevenger and Betty Trimm; one brother, Marvin Hill; and two other siblings, Patty Lou, and Doris Andrew Hill who died in infancy. She was also preceded in death by one beloved niece, Jill Gooding.
Audrey is survived by five nephews, Ron (Angie) Clevenger, Jay (Ramona) Clevenger, Rod (Linda) McGinnis, Bob (Melissa) Clevenger, and Mark (Myra) Hill; two nieces, Rhonda (Jim) McKown and Regina (Mark) Friday; and many great nieces and nephews, along with numerous great, great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by one sister-in-law, Barbara Hill, and her dear neighbor and caregiver, Larry Turner.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at Bross and Spidle Funeral Home in Excelsior Springs, Mo. Funeral services will be Thursday, January 30, 2020 at 10:00 a.m., followed by a burial at Hillcrest Cemetery.
