Linda was born in O’Neill, Nebraska on July 26 th , 1947. She went to high school in O’Neill, graduating in 1965, married Kenneth Franklin of O’Neill in 1966, and went on to graduate from beauty school in Sioux City, Iowa. After being transferred to many cities in the Midwest throughout the beginning of her husband’s career, they settled in Sergeant Bluff, Iowa, in 1978, where she built a home and a family. Linda was considered a “super-Mom” by those that knew her best, managing a full-time career while never missing an important date or milestone in her children’s lives. Linda made the most important decision of her life in 2003, professing Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of her life, and she was subsequently baptized in her local church, and went on to graduate from Faith Fellowship International Bible Institute in 2006.

She returned to reside in O’Neill in 2011, and became a faithful member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, where she dearly loved to hear the choir sing. She will be remembered best for her beautiful smile that lit up any place she entered, her kind thoughtfulness of others, and her endless love of all things purple.

Linda is survived by her brother, Rich Shelhamer, of O’Neill, sisters-in- law Peg Shelhamer and Marilyn Shelhamer of O’Neill, as well as her children, Tiffani (Franklin) Wilson and son-in- law Dwayne Wilson of Nashville, TN, and grandsons Chase and Peyton Wilson; and Todd Franklin, and daughter-in- law Aimee Franklin of Omaha, Nebraska, and grandsons Jonas, Noah, and granddaughter Clara Franklin. Survivors also include Linda’s nieces Carrie (Shelhamer) Hahlbeck of O’Neill, Laurie (Shelhamer) Hansen of Atkinson, NE, Wendy (Shelhamer) Dame of St. George, Utah; nephews Kevin Shelhamer of O’Neill, and Scott Shelhamer, of O’Neill.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Verdella (Benda) Shelhamer, of O’Neill, and her brother, Paul Shelhamer, of O’Neill.
