Philip G. Shamblin, age 68, of Sweetwater, passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2020 surrounded by his family and friends. Member of First Baptist Church of Sweetwater. He was an Eagle Scout and a member of the Troop 98 of Sweetwater. Retired from General Electric Corporation.

Preceded in death by his parents: Ray and Frances Pennington Shamblin.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years: Patty Best Shamblin, of Sweetwater, sons and daughters-in-law: Dr. Chris and Heather Shamblin, of Sweetwater, Jonathan and Stacey Shamblin of Lenoir City, grandchildren: Jonathan Shamblin II, of Lenoir City, Jackson Shamblin, Caleb Shamblin, Henry Shamblin, all of Sweetwater, Elin Shamblin, of Lenoir City, brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Rodney and Rhonda Best, of Alcoa, sisters-in-law and brother-in-law: Diane Whitehead, of Sweetwater, Donna and Jeff Martin of Madisonville, several nieces, nephews, and many special friends. The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of Amedisys Hospice Group of Sweetwater.
