In following Roger's wishes cremation rites have been accorded.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Roger was born in Clinton on November 18, 1950, the son of William and Ima-Jean (Smith) Cooper.
He was a laborer working out of the Denver, CO and Rock Island Locals.
Roger enjoyed boating and fishing and was an avid sports fan. He was a member of the former Eagle's Club.
Roger is survived by his life partner, Kelly McClintock with whom he shared her home; two children, Patrick Cooper of Normal, IL and Lindsay Cooper-Gura of Bloomington, IL; 6 grandchildren; 2 brothers, John (Lucy) Cooper and Larry (Sue) Cooper both of Clinton; 2 sisters, Linda Troxel and Billie Jean "Sissy" Worley both of Clinton; a sister-in-law, Mary Cooper of Denver and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, David.
