Rodney Neal Ferguson, 52 of Columbus passed away at 7:55 AM on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at his residence. He was a member of Columbus Baptist Church and a Boat Pilot for Waterfront Service in Cairo, IL and a former member of the Columbus Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and hanging out with his friends at the Fish Market and Riverhill Recreation. Rodney loved his family and the river. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Kimberly D. Jones Ferguson of Columbus, son, Brett Austin Ferguson of Philadelphia, PA, daughter, Alana Renee Ferguson of Columbus, 2 brothers, Troy (Tara) Ferguson of Wingo and Scott (Kim) Ferguson of Columbus, and 1 sister, Melanie Wood (Tommy O’Steen) Ferguson of Clinton, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, J.L. and Delores Bell Ferguson. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 30, 2020 at the Brown Funeral Home in Clinton with Rev. Dan Burnham and Rev. Chad Frizzell officiating. Burial will follow at the Zion Cemetery.
