Deloris Jackson, 68, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at her home. Born November 18, 1950 in Marion, Ala., she was a daughter of the late James and Augusta (Boone) Jackson. She was a supervisor with Lincoln Life for nearly 10 years and later started her own daycare, Peach Palace, which she operated for 35 years and raised many children. She was a lifelong member of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Southeast Congregation/Tillman Park. A pillar of the community, Deloris was a fighter, a “go-getter”, and was very generous. She enjoyed traveling, dancing and walking her dogs. She is survived by her children, Tracy Jackson of Fort Wayne, Towanna (Steven Davis) Jackson of Fort Wayne, Steven Jackson of Fort Wayne, Yteria Williams of Atlanta, Ga., Shawn Williams of Atlanta, Ga., Javon (Asha) Brooks of Atlanta, Ga., Danielle Brooks of Atlanta, Ga., and Tyeshia Brooks of Atlanta, Ga.; 43 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; siblings, Georgiann (Larry) Miller of Hendersonville, N.C., Carolyn (Chester) Jackson-Ware of Fort Wayne, Bobby R. Jackson of Fort Wayne, Conella (Dean) Menefee of Fort Wayne; dear friends, Sherri Lapsley and Geraldine Gaston, both of Fort Wayne; many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, host of many friends, and many children from her daycare. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, James “Stony” Jackson, Robert Earl Jackson, and David Lee Jackson; and grandson, Dominik Files. Funeral Service will be 1:00pm on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Home - Foster Park, 6301 Fairfield Ave., Fort Wayne, with calling two hours prior. Pallbearers are Tracy Jackson, Steven Jackson, Shawn Williams, Cur'wan Johnson, Steven Davis, and Curtis Johnson. Honorary Pallbearers are Montwell Jackson, Tracy Jackson Jr., Detrick Smith, Traneilous Jackson, and Tremiel Jackson.
