Debra "Debbie" Nalley, 66, of College Station, Texas passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 22, 2020. A public visitation will be held at Callaway-Jones Funeral Center on Sunday, January 26th at 10:00am, followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00am, there, and burial at Bryan City Cemetery at 2pm.
Debbie was born August 15, 1953, in Galveston, Texas, to her parents, Raymond H. Wilson and his wife Elva Annis Killgo. Debbie was married to Gerald Nalley and they lived in Bay City, raised three loving, devoted adult children, who loved nothing but driving to see her and just spend time together.
Her children include daughter, Tawana (Tino) Gonzales and their children Kassandra Gonzales, Gerald Gonzales, Lily Gonzales, and Isiah Gonzales of College Station; son, Shane (Kendra) Nalley, and their daughter Jasmine Nalley; son, Gabriel (Stacy) Nalley and their daughter Charlotte Nalley of Sweeney, Texas; brothers, Roger (Pat) Wilson, Kenny (Anne) Wilson, Ricky Wilson; sister, Ruth Billeau.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Elva Annis Wilson, husband, Gerald Nalley; brother, Wayne Wilson, brother-in-law, Wilbert Billeau; and grandson, Triston Nalley.
Debbie had multiple talents—she was a successful, hard worker at every job she held. She frequently took all kinds of jobs to make sure her children and grandchildren had everything they needed, not in an extravagant way, but the kind when, as you've just sewn them a beautiful outfit to enjoy how they look at school or a special event, they were so proud. Then she loved taking them all out to eat, at Long John Silver's, and she just was so delighted to do that.
Gabriel remembers that she was the kind of woman who would give you the shirt of her back, and then take out a loan to help get you more shirts. She enjoyed regular visits to the Senior Center on Bristol in Bryan, where she made many friends. Tawana recalls that she was a loving, caring person who would do anything for you that you needed. Shane noted that she could be stubborn as a mule, because she'd never give up trying to help you. Debbie also had an amazing ability to find he resources to help people, and you didn't even know she did it!
Music was, right after family, Debbie's favorite thing in life. Her absolutely favorite song was "Funky Cold Medina" by Tone-Luc. There are several cute stories behind that song.
