Kenneth Carl Fletcher of Sherman passed away peacefully Saturday, January 4 at his home after a very short illness. Ken loved his UT Longhorn sports, walking, painting, reading and his loving family. He was a member of University of Texas Ex Students Association and Sigma Phi Epsilon. Ken was a Retired Commander in the US Navy.

Ken's career spanned purchasing, materials and selling laboratory services for a Houston company, In his sixties, Ken turned his attention to painting taking lessons from 3 area artists. Friends and family cherish his artwork.

During his first "wife-time", Ken and Carol lived in Houston and Sherman with daughter Carla Leigh. After divorcing, he lived in Dallas getting his Master of Economics from East Texas State at Commerce. Marrying Jan in 1979, the family lived in San Angelo. Then, Duncanville was home while Rob finished school and the next 23 years. Ken and his wife Jan moved to the countryside in Sherman from Duncanville in 2007.

Ken is preceded in death by his father Gordon Leigh Fletcher, mother Nancy Ruth Craig, brother John Fletcher and uncle Jack Craig. He is survived by his wife of 40 years Jannie; his daughter Carla Woolsey, Bill Lane and grandson Cody Woolsey of Whitesboro; and step-son Robert Edgin of Fort Worth.
A Celebration of Life for Ken Fletcher will be Saturday, January 18 at 2 pm at the Christian Life Center of First Baptist Church in Whitesboro. To honor Ken, please wear your favorite sports team jersey/colors. Sorry, no OU and Aggie
