Alice Hambey enjoyed participating in lodges and other organizations. She belonged to the Fern Parlor Native Daughters of the Goden West, the Louis J. Blogett # 362 Post of the Folsom American Legion Auxiliary, the Women's Alameda City Improvement Club, and the Royal Neighbors Liberty Camp of Alameda # 8473
She moved with her parents from San Miguel Canyon area to San Jose, In San Jose she atteded school, beacame a bookkeeper, married and had her first child. later she lived in the Sacramento area, then finally moved to the Alameda Co. where she resided until her death.
She loved poetry and copied those poem she liked unto small books. She also wrote her own. Now it has been difficult to determine what she copied and what was her own.
