Daughter-in-law of James Blair (15735059)

Carol Rae Clark Blair, 79, passed away Sunday, Jan. 26, in Tulsa. Carol was born Aug. 10, 1940, in Kismet, Kan. to Hobart and Geneva (Minger) Clark.

Carol graduated Kismet High in 1958 and went on to Panhandle A&M in Goodwell, graduating in 1962 with a Bachelor of Music Education. It was at Panhandle A&M that Carol met Robert Blair who she married on Aug. 10, 1963, and divorced in 1983.

Carol’s life was filled with music. Her lifelong career as a music educator began in 1962 in Elkhart, Kan. then to Copeland, Kan. in 1964. The family moved to Tribune, Kan. in 1970 where Carol taught elementary music for Greeley County Schools until her retirement in 1995. Her school Christmas musical programs were beloved by the community and Carol always considered Tribune as her “home town.”

On retirement from teaching in Kansas, Carol moved to Hitchita to be closer to family. She taught briefly at Webbers Falls and Dewar before finally retiring from teaching in 1998. Carol was a wonderful piano player and enjoyed sharing this gift not only as a teacher, but also in the many churches she attended throughout her life. She especially loved gospel music and was always happy to play an old gospel tune, especially if you were willing to sing along.

Carol was preceded in death by her father, Hobart Clark; mother, Geneva Clark; and brother, James Clark.

Carol is survived by daughters, Carla Blair and husband, Walter of Morris and Amy Millirons and husband Richard of Tribune, Kan.; sons, David Blair and wife Catherine of Sand Springs and Randall Blair and wife Polly of Lenexa, Kan.; sister, Leah Layman of Checotah; grandchildren, Makayla Burtt, Zoe Blair, Connor Urlaub, Theodore Blair, Clark Blair, Tyler Dean and Gage Millirons; great grandchildren, Evelyn Burtt and Samwell Burtt; as well as many other loving relatives and a host of friends.
