A native of Macon County, she was the daughter of the late George Thomas Stalcup and Jessie Wallace Stalcup. She was also preceded in death by her husband, B. L. "Buck" Sherrill, who died in 1984.
Florence retired in 1972 from Macon County Cooperative Extension Service as home extension agent. She was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church, a member of the Tuesday Morning Prayer Group, Past Worthy Matron of Eastern Star Nequassa Chapter No. 43., and the first woman to serve on the school board in Macon County. She loved to work and loved the people she worked with, the family said.
She is survived by one son, George Sherrill of Franklin.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Feb. 4, at 3 p.m., at Memorial United Methodist Church. Rev. Keith Newell will officiate.
Burial will be in Carson Chapel Cemetery.
