Warren F. Powers OLIVET
Warren F. Powers, 80. of 604 S. Main, Olivet died Wednesday in a Battle Creek Hospital after a short illness.
He was a past president of the Olivet Chamber of Commerce and a past president of the Olivet Lions Club. He was a director of the Olivet State Bank and a trustee of the Olivet Congregational Church.
Mr. Powers had retired as a claims adjustor for an insurance firm in Detroit in 1956 and returned to Olivet where he was graduated from Olivet College in 1912.
He had belonged to the Federated Garden Clubs of America since 1960 and was a member of the Olivet Bulb and Blossom Garden Club.
Survivors include his wife, Gula Quick; a son. Perry John of Eugene, Ore.; and two brothers. Perry F. of San Diego, Calif., and Edward F. of Cadillac.
Private graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Olivet Cemetery and memorial services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Olivet Congregational Church. Friends may" call at Burkhead Funeral Home.
