James A. "Jim" Kittler, 82, of Altheimer, formerly of Carlisle, died Sunday, June 24. He was a retired farmer, a member of the JD&D Hunting Club of Rison, the Carlisle First United Methodist Church and the American Legion. He was preceded in death by his wife, Toka Dean, brothers Ray and Chester Kittler, and sister Catherine June Miller. He is survived by his children, Jimmy Kittler of Yellville, Ricky Kittler of Carlisle, Pam Bettis of Lonoke, Jimmy Sumner of Carlisle, Ricky Sumner of Carlisle and Sun Dean Freeby of Lonoke; sister Margaret Hula of Hazen; sister-in-law Mary Elizabeth Kittler of Carlisle; brother-in-law Jerry Miller of Little Rock; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 28, at the First United Methodist Church in Carlisle. Burial will be in the Carlisle Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 27, from 6-8 p.m. at Westbrook Funeral Home in Hazen.
