NEW ALBANY WEIR, SARAH MARTHA (GRIDER) HARDIN, 82, died Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at Providence Retirement Home in New Albany, IN. A native of Tullahoma, TN, Sarah also lived in Nashville, TN and Louisville, KY, and lived 24 years at Kentucky Lake. She retired from the Kroger Company, where she was head checker. The daughter of the late Fred Brandon Grider, Sr. and Willie Effice (Brown) Grider, Sarah was born April 5, 1925 in Tullahoma, TN. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands, Warren Gilbert Hardin, Sr. and William Weir; and one grandson, Jeremy Hardin. She is survived by a daughter, Susan Freer and her husband, Jim of Jackson, MI; a son, Warren Gilbert Hardin, Jr. of Louisville, Kentucky; brother, Fred Grider of St. Augustine, FL, John Grider and Robert Grider, both of Louisville; and a sister, Mary Fisher of Louisville; grandchildren, Rebecca Freer Wulff, Phoebe Freer, Nathan Hardin, Carrie Hardin, Adam Hovekamp and Aaron Hovekamp; and five great-grandchildren. A memorial visitation will be 10-10:30 a.m. Friday at Providence Retirement Home, 4915 Charlestown Road, New Albany, IN. A memorial service celebrating her life will be 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Chapel of Providence Retirement Home. The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to the Special Care Unit at Providence Retirement Home.
