GILFORD — Reginald I. Adams, 84, of 14 Skyline Drive, died in Gilford on Tuesday, July 17, 2007.

Mr. Adams was the widower of Irene (O'Connor) Adams who died in 2000.

Mr. Adams was born Aug. 13, 1922, in Ashland, the son of Homer and Beatrice (Bowles) Adams.

Mr. Adams lived in the Lakes Region for 54 years, coming from Campton. He wintered in Venice, Fla., for many years.

Mr. Adams served in the Marine Corps during World War II. He started his own construction business — the Reg Adams Construction Co. — and had formerly been employed at Scott & Williams for many years and was also employed by the State of New Hampshire. Water Pollution Control Commission. He was a logger in the Plymouth area and a part-time Gilford police officer and officer with state Marine Patrol.

Mr. Adams was a member of the Lakes Region Marine Corps League. He enjoyed bowling and playing cards and was an avid hunter, fisherman and snowmobiler.

Mr. Adams was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather and will be greatly missed by all those who loved him.

Survivors include three daughters, Sara "Sally" E. Beane of Gilford, Kathryn A. Cook and her husband, Gary, of Gilford and Janet L. Lasell and her husband, Don, of Laconia; nine grandchildren, Jennifer Beane Ebel, Heather Beane, Jeffrey Beane, Adam Cook, Seth Cook, Aaron Lasell, Casey Lasell, Matthew Lasell and Ian Lasell; and three great-grandchildren, Anna Cook, Grace Cook and Elsa Ebel.

Family calling hours will be held on Friday evening at the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant St., Laconia. A funeral service will be held Saturday, July 21, 2007, at 12:30 p.m. at the Gilford Community Church, Potter Hill Road, Gilford. The Rev. Michael Graham, Pastor of the Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in the family lot in Pine Grove Cemetery, Gilford.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Northern New England Chapter, 114 Perimeter Road, Nashua, N.H. 03063 or Community Health & Hospice Inc., 780 North Main St., Laconia, NH 03246.
